2025 VW Tiguan Electric SUV : What The Future Will Be Electric For VW Group’s

2025 VW Tiguan Electric SUV  – C-SUVs are very popular and almost all automakers offer their own proposals. Volkswagen was among the first to adopt the Tiguan, which became the most-sold VW Group vehicle. Although the current model is quite modern, we decided that it might be interesting to speculate about the next generation and whether it could follow the BEV route.

In 2007, the first-gen VW Tiguan was launched. It received a facelift for 2011. The second-gen VW Tiguan was introduced in 2007 and received a facelift in 2011. A third-generation Tiguan could be available in 2024. This would make it possible to offer it in ICE-powered or hybrid forms.

The left side shows the first generation, which was introduced in 2007, and the mid-life cycle update in 2011. On the left, you will see the second generation of 2015 and the most recent 2020 facelift on your right. Volkswagen might have been focusing on the ever-expanding ID. While the company may have been focusing on the ever-expanding ID, it will continue to update the core models, including the Polo, Golf, T-Roc, and Tiguan, as long as possible. VW’s expectation that only 25% of its worldwide sales will come from EVs in 2026 combined with the popularity and appeal of the aforementioned nameplates makes it likely that the core models will survive at least another generation before becoming EV-only.

Exterior & Interior

We will continue to use the current platforms, despite the fact that there is a very short time frame before Europe bans ICE in Europe and other markets. This is because automakers have invested heavily in EV-dedicated architectures. We believe that Volkswagen, along with other brands, might offer a fully-electric Tiguan. However, this will require them to electrify the evolutions of the MQB Evo platform. This could be used by other brands within the VW Group. It is worth the investment. The entry-level trims may be offered with mild-hybrid powertrains at a lower price, but the bulk of sales volume will likely come from plug-in hybrids which will still cost less than full-blown EV versions.

The next Tiguan will most likely inherit many design elements from the ID in terms of its looks. a range of electric models, similar to the China-bound Lamando L fastback. These include full-width LED taillights and headlights, a textured cover for intakes, and a more rounded approach to the surfacing. Jean Francois Hubert/SB Medien has provided speculative renderings. They show a more sporty and aerodynamic design with similar exterior dimensions and dynamic proportions.

The bodywork will be more sculpted, with more curved lines replacing the old boxy appearance. We don’t know if Volkswagen will keep the seven-seat Allspace variant of the next model. It does a fantastic job covering the same space as the larger D-SUV segment. Inside, expect major changes including a more tech-focused dashboard with a fully digital cockpit, advanced head-up display, and the latest ADAS safety features from VW Group.
