2025 VW ID.3 – Volkswagen’s all-electric car line, which is part of the ID branding, will grow in 2025. The company today announced the development of a new model, which will slot below the ID.3 in its lineup. It’ll be available in 2025. VW did not reveal any further information on the car but it was not surprising considering there have been rumors about such a model.

2025 VW ID.3 Specs
According to a March report, the ID.1 development was already underway. It would be available with two battery options, 24- or 36-kilowatt-hours, and a maximum range up to 185 miles (298 km). A new report from November confirmed the March one, which was based on unnamed sources. It stated that VW would add two sub-IDs.3 models to its lineup. According to rumors, the smallest model would replace the Up! while the larger, referred to as the ID.2, was expected to replace the Polo.

2025 VW ID.3 Price & Release Date
Reports in the past had indicated that ID.1 would arrive in 2025. Today’s announcement by VW confirms this. The runabout should be priced below EUR20,000 (current exchange rates: EUR23,800) and targeted at urban European buyers.

Verdict
VW also stated today that it would continue to optimize and invest in its MEB platform. This platform underpins a wide range of VW Group EVs. It will also be used by the ID. The ID.1 or whatever VW calls it will be developed alongside VW’s newly-announced all-electric sedan, Project Trinity. It’ll one day be capable of Level 4 “highly-automated” driving. Project Trinity will be the brand’s flagship. It will feature cutting-edge battery technology and new manufacturing processes. This will change what we expect from cars. Although it won’t be available until 2026, it could be quite an announcement. However, cars such as the ID.1 will be the ones that fuel the next generation of EVs.
