2023 Volkswagen ID.Buzz Microbus – Volkswagen finally revealed the production model ID.Buzz five years after it created a lot of buzz with its Microbus-inspired electric van design. The U.S. will not see the Buzz at a dealership until 2024, despite the fact that there is a large asterisk. The specs of the European ID. Buzz are not the Buzz intended for America. Europe will soon get a five-seat version and an ID. Buzz Cargo van. America will receive a van with a longer wheelbase and three rows of seating.

2023 Volkswagen ID.Buzz Microbus Specs
Two Euro-spec vans with a wheelbase measuring 117.6 inches will be able to ride on an overall length of 185.5 inches. It measures 76.3 inches in height, making it taller than the American minivan or compact crossovers such as the ID. The ID.Buzz Euro version has 39.6 cubic feet of cargo area with the rear seats up. The Cargo version offers 137.7 cubic yards behind the front seats. The US version will likely get a different package, which could be due to the extra length and additional packaging.
Interior
The ID.Buzz interior features sustainable materials and an updated version of the visually appealing but functionally inept infotainment system and interface from the Volkswagen ID.4. Volkswagen points out that the removable and movable center console in the production ID.Buzz is carried all the way from the concept. The Euro version’s turning circle measures 36.4 feet, which is great for maneuverability.

Engine
The modular propulsion system and the battery of the ID.Buzz are virtually identical to the single-motor ID.4. It produces 201 horsepower and 229 lbft of torque at its rear wheels. The usable battery has a capacity of 77kwh, out of a gross of 82kwh. VW will reveal more information about the range later. In 2023, it will offer “more battery variants with different power output levels”. The ID.Buzz can be charged at up 11 kw AC (Level 2) or at a fast-charge of up 170 kw DC in its European version. It also has bidirectional charging capabilities that will enable it to provide grid stabilization and supplemental power.

2023 Volkswagen ID.Buzz Microbus Released
Will the U.S. version be able to keep the hype? Keep watching, because that electric van version isn’t expected to be revealed until 2023.
